combinators.</p>
<p>The function may be the <code>parse</code> function of the <a href="synom/trait.Synom.html"><code>Synom</code></a> trait, or it may
be a free-standing function with an arbitrary name. When implementing the
<code>Synom</code> trait, the function name is <code>parse</code> and the return type is <code>Self</code>.</p>
